7 students at West Somerville Neighborhood School are part of a Fashion Club called "Wearable Creations". The club uses challenges similar to Project Runway to encourage students to stretch their perceptions of what fashion means, to use their inspirations as motivation and to set their goals high This year the club was invited to participate in the Somerville Open Studio's fashion show "Beyond the Pattern".Their work for this show is in response to a challenge the students designed themselves. It is to create a wearable, 3D self- portrait using the phrase "That's Sew Me" as inspiration. The show will take place on May 5th at 255 Elm Street at 6:30pm .
